Ann Bittinger had the pleasure of co-presenting two sessions at the American Health Lawyers Association’s annual meeting this week in Boston, MA. The sessions addressed hospital medical staff issues that will arise amid the new era of Accountable Care Organizations and amid other federal efforts to promote greater hospital-physician collaboration. The hour-and-a-half session co-presenters were Richard Sheff, MD of the Greely Company, Chicago attorney Michael Callahan and Washington anti-trust attorney Christi Braun. Ann’s portion focused on the physician perspective — namely why quality continues to matter to physicians in the ACO era.
