Telemedicine, the use of telecommunication and information technologies in order to provide clinical health care at a distance, is currently the subject of Florida Board of Medicine debate.  Changes to the telemedicine statutes have been the subject of a number of bills in recent Florida legislative sessions, so possible changes may lurk on the horizon.  Florida’s version of the prohibition of the corporate practice of medicine governs the owners of out-of-state companies that employ physicians who are performing telemedicine in Florida.
